Suspect Sought In Shooting Death Of 21-Year-Old In Woodbury

Authorities have identified the 21-year-old victim, who was shot several times, and are still looking for a suspect in the fatal shooting.

WOODBURY, NJ — South Jersey authorities have identified the man who was shot and killed on Wednesday afternoon in Woodbury, and continue searching for a suspect.

The shooting occurred in the area of Franklin and Wallace Streets at around 2:41 p.m., officials said. Woodbury officers found 21-year-old Brandon L. Blanton suffering from several gunshot wounds, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

First responders transported Blanton, a Woodbury resident to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Gloucester County Medical Examiner Dr. Gerald Feign ruled the cause of his death as multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death as homicide, the prosecutor's office said.

Police are seeking a suspect as of Thursday afternoon, Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Thomas Gilbert told Patch.

The Woodbury City Police Department and Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office are both investigating the incident, authorities said.
