Cross Keys Road stretches across Camden and Gloucester counties. About 25,000 to 30,000 drivers use the roadway on any given day, police said.
Crashes on the roadway are most prevalent from 2-6 p.m., says Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins.
"With schools back in session, protecting our children and ensuring safe roadways is more important than ever," Harkins said in a statement. "By combining resources across jurisdictions, we aim to magnify our efforts and make Berlin-Cross Keys Road safer for all motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists. Our goal is to prevent crashes and save lives through enforcement and education."
Community members can expect a greater police presence along Cross Keys Road.
Drivers are reminded to obey speed limits, avoid distractions and never drive impaired — especially near school buses and areas with more pedestrians.
