Local officials have deemed the property in need of redevelopment — a designation that can help streamline construction processes. Gloucester Premium Outlets has agreed to sell the property to the developer, Main Street MDT LLC, according to township documents.

Once complete, Chick-fil-A will have a 5,400-square-foot restaurant that seats 82 guests and has multiple drive-thru lanes.

"We look forward to joining the community, where each locally owned and operated restaurant creates 80 to 120 jobs, and to serving all of our guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality," a Chick-fil-A spokesperson said via email.

Gloucester Township has a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Sicklerville's Town Square Plaza. But the closest to the site of the future location is 2 miles away, in Turnersville, according to the restaurant chain's website.
