2 New Faces Win In Crowded Gloucester Twp. School Board Race: Results

There were 11 candidates on the ballot for the local school board race: two incumbents and nine outside candidates.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — There will soon be two new faces on the school board of Gloucester Township, who rose out of a crowded field of 11 candidates.

Only two of the candidates on the ballot Tuesday are currently on the board. Voters could choose three candidates.

With 40 of 40 precincts reporting, incumbent Gloucester Township School Board member Jennifer O’Donnell secured 6,577 votes. The two newcomers are Keith Gibbons, who secured 5,709 votes; and Nancy B. Fritz, who secured 4,880 votes according to unofficial results.

Matthew Elliott Wilson, the other incumbent, got 3,816 votes. Here's the unofficial vote tally from the Camden County Board of elections:

Camden County had 72,489 people vote in person and 65,818 vote by mail for this election, with 2,985 early votes counted as of Wednesday morning. That’s a turnout of 141,292 people, or roughly 36 percent of registered voters.

Camden County re-elected Democratic commissioners Edward T. McDonnell and Virginia Ruiz-Betterige, unofficial results show. Both secured more than 85,000 votes Tuesday night with 327 of 342 precincts reporting.

In the contest for New Jersey’s 1st Congressional district, 66 percent of Camden County voters chose sitting Democrat Donald W. Norcross over Republican Claire Gustafson, according to unofficial results. Norcross got 92,056 votes to Gustafson’s 42,597 according to the county BOE.
