Blackwood Animal Shelter Getting 'Critically Full'; Adoption Fees Waived

Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center has waived the fees, which can cost hundreds, through August.

BLACKWOOD, NJ — A local animal shelter is making a push to find forever homes and clear some space. As a result, Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center waived all adoption fees through August.

Homeward Bound, the animal shelter responsible for much of Camden County, is reaching "critically full levels," said County Commissioner Jonathan Young.

"This is our busiest time of year," said Young, liaison to the shelter. "We really need the public's help in finding loving homes for these animals. Please, if you are able, consider opening your heart and your home to a new pet. And if you're unable to adopt right now, the shelter is always looking for donations."
