Camden County Dog Breeders Sold Sick Puppies: Prosecutor

Detectives found 28 dogs, three cats and numerous livestock at the home of an Atco dog breeder, authorities announced.

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — A couple that breeds dogs in Atco has been charged with selling sick puppies, Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Waterford Township Police chief Daniel Cormaney announced.

A search warrant executed at the Atco home of Casey Gleockler, 40, and his wife, Kristina Gleockler, 39, led investigators to find 28 dogs on the property, authorities said. Most of the dogs were transferred to an animal shelter in Media, PA for treatment and testing.

Most of the dogs were puppies, and authorities said they also found three cats and multiple livestock at the home.

Authorities obtained the search warrant after they received two complaints that the Gleocklers sold sick puppies out of their Atco home in August.

One of the puppies died the next night, authorities said. A veterinarian told the owner that the puppy might have had Parvo, a deadly virus that spreads among dogs, according to authorities. The other puppy survived.

Casey and Kristina Gleockler have each been charged with one count of fourth-degree cruelty and one count of fourth-degree offering a diseased animal for sale. They were processed and released.
