Camden County Prosecutor Investigates Police Shooting In Deptford
The Attorney General's Office has appointed the Camden County Prosecutor's Office to investigate a police-involved shooting in Deptford.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a police-involved shooting that took place as police were arresting a Pennsylvania man in Gloucester County Monday night, authorities announced.
Police in Media, Pennsyvlania, attempted to arrest 41-year-old Arthur Disanto, of Delaware County, on charges that he shot a woman in Media in July, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Disanto fled to Deptford, where he got involved in a shootout with police, according to the prosecutor’s office. He shot a Monroe Township police officer, authorities said. The officer has been treated and released from the hospital.

Disanto was also shot three times, authorities said. He was taken to Cooper Medical Center where he remains in critical but stable condition.
The police-involved shooting is being investigated pursuant to Attorney General Directive 2019-4, which provides clear standards and procedures for conducting such investigations.

The Attorney General Office of Public Integrity & Accountability has appointed the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office as Independent Prosecutor.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit and Special Prosecutions Unit will now continue the investigation of both the use of force matter and the potential underlying criminal charges.
