Cannabis Dispensary Discussion In Gloucester Twp. Postponed

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A zoning board hearing regarding a proposed cannabis dispensary in Gloucester Township was postponed, a public notice said.
A discussion regarding North Jersey's HoneyGrove South's proposed cannabis dispensary is now scheduled to be heard at the Gloucester Township Zoning Board Sept. 14 meeting, the public notice said.
The permit for HoneyGrove South Corporation's proposed 3,440-square-foot cannabis dispensary within the 1200 and 1300 blocks of Blackwood-Clementon Road was previously denied for two reasons, an earlier public notice said.

No. 1, the proposed cannabis dispensary fails to meet the township's requirement of being located more than 1,000 feet from any public or private school serving kindergarten students through 12th graders, day care facility or public park, according to the earlier public notice.
No. 2, the proposed cannabis dispensary fails to meet the township's requirement of being located more than 500 feet from a single, double or multi-family residential use, according to the public notice.

The zoning board will hear testimony from HoneyGrove South at the Sept. 14 meeting explaining why it should waive those requirements.
