Citizens Police Academy Returns in March

The Gloucester Township Police Department initiative is now entering its 10th year.

No, they don't want you like that. Take a deep breath. (Well, some of you reading this may have warrants out for your arrest, but you're not the people police want in this particular instance.)

The Police Department's 10-week Citizens Police Academy will get underway on Thursday, March 22.

Police invite anyone 16 years old or older to attend the free academy.

It is the police department's hope that the academy, which is entering its ninth year, will foster an improved relationship between police and the community.

The course will include an overview of the police department, including its administration and patrol, communications, special operations, criminal investigations and youth criminal law units, and many other interesting topics.

All attendees will also learn CPR for the home.

The Citizens Police Academy graduated 24 participants in 2011.
