Code Blue For Camden County Ahead Of Possible 'Significant' Snow
Camden County will be under a Code Blue Weather Advisory for the next week as the region braces for a pair of projected significant storms.
CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Camden County will be under a Code Blue Weather Advisory for the next week as the region braces for a pair of significant storms that are in the forecast for this week.
The Health Officer has issued the Code Blue advisory for Camden County, effective from 7 p.m. Tuesday night through 7 a.m. on Jan. 24, county officials announced Tuesday morning.
“With these frigid conditions, it’s absolutely crucial that we get everyone sheltered and out of the elements,” Commissioner Carmen Rodriguez, liaison to the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services, said. “It’s also important to check on any elderly relatives and neighbors and to get our pets indoors.”

Tuesday is expected to see temperatures around the mid-30s with wind gusts of around 25 mph, while Wednesday may see slightly higher temperatures in the 40s. A wintry mix of rain and snow is in the forecast for Wednesday night as temperatures drop.
Another storm on Friday night into Saturday could bring more snow, the National Weather Service said, but it largely remains too early to tell how much the storm will hit offshore. Read more here: 'Significant' Snow Possible This Week In New Jersey: Here's When

When the Camden County Health Officer declares a Code Blue Weather Advisory, municipalities with homeless populations, situational homeless or transient populations are expected to activate their Code Blue response plan to accommodate their immediate needs.
“We encourage everyone to check on elderly or handicapped relatives and neighbors that live alone,” Rodriguez said.
Anyone who is seeking shelter in a warming center should contact their local municipality. Additional resources are available by calling the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services at 800-999-9045, or by visiting www.camdencounty.com.
