Eagles Linebacker Returns To Gloucester Twp. For Back-To-School Giveaway

The Eagles rookie is returning to his hometown, where he competed for Timber Creek High School.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Jihaad Campbell, a Philadelphia Eagles rookie from Gloucester Township, will return to his hometown for a back-to-school event.

Campbell's Back to School Bookbag Giveaway runs from 12-4 p.m. Saturday at Gloucester Township Community Park (Peter Cheeseman Road and Hickstown Road).

The event will feature music, food, local vendors and a chance to meet Campbell.

Backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so arriving early is recommended.

Born in Erial, Campbell spent three years at Timber Creek High School before transferring to IMG Academy in Florida. In college, he competed for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

This year, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Campbell in the first round (31st pick overall) in the NFL Draft, acquiring the linebacker through a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs.

With Eagles training camp underway, Campbell is competing for playing time with the defending Super Bowl champions.
