Ex-NJ Youth Coach Charged In Sex Assaults Involving Minors: Prosecutor

BRIDGETON, NJ - A 73-year-old South Jersey man has been charged in a pair of sexual assault incidents, one which occurred last month and the other having taken place nearly 25 years ago.

Robert R. Marino, 73, of Bridgeton, was charged with aggravated sexual assault and sexual assault in connection with a sexual interaction with a minor that took place between 1994 and 1998 in Bridgeton, the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

The victim was between 14 and 17 when Marino was a youth coach in the city, the prosecutor’s office said. Marino is lodged in Cumberland County Jail pending a detention hearing on the case.

Marino was previously charged for a similar assault involving a victim in Bridgeton around July 3, the prosecutor’s office said. He was charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the incident.
