Forest Fire Spanning 20 Acres Breaks Out In South Jersey; Roads Closed

VINELAND, NJ — A forest fire spanning 20 acres broke out Friday in the Peaslee Wildlife Management Area in Vineland, in Cumberland County.
According to a post on X by the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, as of 3:10 p.m., crews were at the scene of the blaze, which was burning in a "remote area" of the Peaslee WMA.
The fire was 0 percent contained, but no structures were impacted, the fire service said.

Union Road was closed between Rt. 49 and Mays Landing Road, officials said.
According to NJ.com., water was being dumped from the air on the fire; winds in the area Friday were about 25 miles per hour, the outlet said.
