GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Friday's Summer Night Market has been canceled in Gloucester Township because of stormy conditions predicted for that evening, officials announced Thursday.
The Summer Night Market — a family-friendly event featuring craft vendors and live music — was set to run from 6-9 p.m. Friday. The township planned three night-market events for the summer, but two have been canceled because of forecasted weather.
June 23's night market was canceled, while the July 28 event took place as scheduled. Friday's event was set to be the final Summer Night Market of the year.

Forecasters expect showers and storms to hit the region Thursday night, with storms potentially lingering through Friday.

- Thursday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Friday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Southwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Friday night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind around 5 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
- Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 86. North wind 5 to 10 mph.
