GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Gloucester Township Farmers Market is making another logistical change ahead of the new market year, which begins later this month.

Previously, officials announced that the market would split into two mini-seasons — one in the early summer and the next in early fall — and return to Downtown Blackwood.

However, the early-summer markets will now be held at Veterans Park, officials said Wednesday. The dates and times for the sessions remain unchanged.

In the early summer, markets will run from 4-7 p.m. Thursdays from June 26 through July 24 at Veterans Park (1261 Chews Landing Rd.). There will not be a July 3 market.

Then, the market will return to the same weekly time slot from Sept. 11 through Oct. 2 at Harwan Park in Downtown Blackwood (13 S. Black Horse Pike).

In recent years, Gloucester Township's farmers market has experimented with different timeframes and locations. Last summer, the market moved to Veterans Park and ran from June through August after previously operating in July and August at Harwan Park.

The market was split into two mini-seasons this year in an effort to avoid the mid-summer heat. In the past, Gloucester Township has canceled some markets because of dangerously high temperatures.

Despite the changes, patrons can still expect local produce, handmade goods, food trucks and live music.
