GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Pictures have started coming in for Gloucester Township Patch's Scare Tour for 2021.

The picture below was submitted by Kim Matsinger and Patrick LeVan, 404 Linda Avenue, Blackwood, NJ 08012:

The "Last House on the Left" display is open for viewing by the general public every day, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. It has animatronics and homemade props. We encourage people to walk the yard and take pictures. They are collecting donations for local animal shelters. They will hand out full size candy bars (both chocolate and non-chocolate), non candy treats geared more towards younger children and dog treats for the pups.

Patch is compiling a list of Halloween yard haunts that are worth gaping at. We're also interested in kid-friendly, whimsical Halloween-decorated yards where little ones aren't likely to be chased by a maniac with a chainsaw.

If your yard is worth a drive-by this Halloween, shoot us an email. We'll keep adding to the 2020 tour o' haunted yards leading up to Halloween, which this year falls on a Sunday.

We prefer that the homeowner submit his or her own yard, or at least an immediate neighbor or close relative. Please include the following information:

  • The exact address of the yard haunt, including the town.
  • Let us know the dates and hours when your display will be available for viewing, so people aren't ringing your doorbell or bothering your neighbors in the middle of the night.
  • Does your yard haunt have a name? Be sure to include it or we can help you make one up.
  • Tell us about any special effects, live actors, walk-throughs or other features that make your yard haunt special.
  • Does your display have a Facebook page or website? Be sure to include the links.
  • Are you collecting donations for a charity, food pantry or pet shelter? Let us know.
  • Include a phone number (not for publication) in case Patch needs to contact you.
  • Most important: what kind of Halloween candy are you passing out to trick-or-treaters?

Please don't submit a Halloween-decorated home you recall from five or 10 years ago. That person may no longer be decorating their house for Halloween, and we don't want people wasting gas.

IMPORTANT: By submitting a photo, you're giving Patch permission to publish it for this feature and future stories.

Send your information and pictures to anthony.bellano@patch.com in an email titled "Patch Scare Tour." We'll be running the list and updating it every Friday until Halloween.
