Handy Numbers for Irene Aftermath

Keep these numbers handy, and remember 9-1-1 is for emergencies.

As Hurricane Irene heads up to New England, emergency workers in New Jersey are continuing to remind people that call volume skyrockets during a crisis. Many of the calls are non-emergency calls that could be better handled by another agency or non-emergency police dispatch.

Only call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency. To reach Gloucester Township Police for non-emergency purposes, call 856-228-4500.

The Camden County chapter of the American Red Cross can be reached at 856-365-7100.
