CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Here's a list of upcoming events in Camden County, courtesy of our friends at Visit South Jersey, the official Destination Marketing Organization for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties, and the Outer Coast Plain Wine Region in South Jersey.
Camden County will hold a candlelight vigil to mark the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon Friday night, 7:30 p.m. at Veterans Island, Cooper River Park. The Camden County Board of Commissioners will partner with military, veterans and public safety partners for the special anniversary event to honor and remember all the civilians, first responders, military and their families who were lost or affected by the attacks and subsequent War on Terror. Flying Fish Brewery will host the Flying Fish 5K from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The chip timed 5k is timed perfectly for the release of the GABF Silver Medal winning Oktoberfish Fest Beer.

Symphony in C presents the Elegance String Quartet on the Porch of the Collingswood Mansion on Friday, 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. The Elegance Quartet (Aisha Dossumova, Claudia Pellegrini, Jennifer Boorum, and Rajli Bicolli) performs a wide array of programs on both traditional and electric strings, enhanced with effects pedals, live rhythm, and vocals. Their signature arrangements blend styles and bend genres to create a sound that is uniquely their own. This unticketed free concert will take place from the porch of the beautiful Collingswood Mansion, 315 White Horse Pike. Concertgoers should bring their own chairs to set up on the shady lawn, and may bring a picnic. Drinks will be available for purchase. Masks are not required, and social distancing is encouraged. Comedy Central’s Anthony DeVito will perform during Haddonfield Comedy Night at 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Haddonfield Plays & Players. The New York City-based comedian has appeared on CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” “Comedy Central Stand Up Presents: Anthony DeVito,” “Comedy Central’s Adam Devine’s House Party,” was one of the “New Faces” at the 2012 Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, has been on “This American Life,” AXS TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live,” and was the 2015 winner of Caroline’s March Madness. Also, his debut album “Dream Occupation” is available from Comedy Central Records. In addition to stand-up, he was a writer on Netflix’s “The Break with Michelle Wolf,” wrote for the 2018 White House Correspondents Dinner, and was a writer/regular panelist on MSG’s “People Talking Sports and Other Stuff.” He also has appeared on TV Land’s “The Jim Gaffigan Show,” and is a favorite on Sirius XM’s Bennington. First come, first served seating. Groups should check-in together. Entrance opens 30 minutes prior to showtime. Price goes up $10/ticket on day of show. No food or drink will be served, but visitors are invited to bring their own. This show is for mature audiences only. Onsite parking is free. WMGK’s 2021 Brew Blast is 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on the Battleship New Jersey in Camden. It will be a great day of craft beer sampling (over 50 beers) and live classic rock from MGK House Band, the Launch, on the tented deck of America’s most decorated battleship. All tickets include a free tour of the Battleship New Jersey. The MGK Brew Blast is a rain or shine event. The main event area is tented. If it’s raining on Saturday, you may want to bring rain gear or an umbrella to stay dry if waiting in line to check in or to walk from the main event area to the bathrooms (about 20-50 feet from beer tent). WMGK’s John DeBella, Matt Cord and Andre Gardner will be on board ready to talk music and beer with you. There will also be great food available for purchase. Barrington Brews, Beats & Eats is back presented by Central Pro Services. Barrington’s only food truck/beer garden festival is hosted again by the Barrington Civic Association, and it takes place 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of St. Francis (Rosebud Academy.) They’re going to have Miller Lite, Yuengling, and Flying Fish Brewing Company IPAs on tap. In addition, they’ll have a Tito’s Handmade Vodka electric lemonade, a Malibu bay breeze and Black Box Cab or Pinot options. The food truck line-up is coming soon. No cost to enter. If you plan to drink, you must bring a valid government issued ID and be over the age of 21. In order to purchase an alcoholic beverage, you must buy a beverage cup for $1. Beer cost will be $4 for Miller Lite or Yuengling, $5 for a Flying Fish IPA, Wine will be $5 and Mixed Drinks will cost $6. We accept cash, credit card or Venmo payments. Enjoy live music and art during Second Saturday in Collingswood on Saturday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Second Saturday was started by a collection of store owners that had an interest in promoting the arts in Collingswood. Each month from March to December, visitors can plan a night on the town to experience the unique arts, music, shopping and dining Collingswood is known for. As always, Second Saturdays are free and there are local artists and musicians on each block. Just arrive and enjoy the culture.
