Impaired Driver Killed 2 People In Wrong-Way South Jersey Crash: Prosecutor

The collision killed a man and woman in the other car, authorities said.

MAURICE RIVER, NJ — A man was charged Thursday after authorities found he drove under the influence when he got into a head-on crash that killed two people last month in Cumberland County.

The charges against Levon Woods stem from a crash on Feb. 22, when his vehicle crossed onto the wrong side of Millville Mays Landing Road in Maurice River Township, authorities said. Woods, 25, of Atlantic City, struck another vehicle head-on, killing two people inside, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.

Authorities identified the victims as Thomas Splinter, 57, and Nancy Orellana-Splinter, 29. Both lived in Mays Landing.
