Interns Lauded at Council Meeting

The second-year internship program has hosted more than 20 young adults thus far.

The mayor and Township Council recognized current and past municipal government interns during Monday night's Council meeting. "It's a learning experience not only for them, but for the people they're working with," Council President Glen Bianchini said. "It's a great program, and I commend you for doing it." A total of 23 interns have participated in the Mayor's Internship Program since its inception last year, according to Mayor David Mayer. "They have been an instrumental part helping us achieve some of the requirements and goals that we have," Mayer said. "But, hopefully—and this is important—they have learned a great deal about how government works." Seven of the 23 total interns were present at Monday's meeting, including four who are currently serving the township. Each was presented with a certificate during the brief ceremony. They are Regina Caristo (Mayor's Office), Jordan Frezzini (Police Department), Eric Henry (Finance Department), Matthew Jefferson (Police Department), Brian Johnston (Mayor's Office), Tom Pinolini (Mayor's Office) and Jasmine Robinson (Mayor's Office). "I too would like to thank the interns here for their work with the township. I know my department has directly benefited from their being here with the township," Business Administrator Tom Cardis said. "I know other department heads have also enjoyed pleasurable outcomes because of the help." For more information on the Mayor's Internship Program, contact the Mayor's Office at 856-374-3514.
