Man Accused Of 'Suspicious' Interaction With Kid In Gloucester Twp. ID'd: Police

The incident involving a student walking home from school remains under investigation.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Authorities have identified a man accused of having a "suspicious" interaction with a child Thursday morning in Gloucester Township as detectives continue investigating the situation.

At 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Gloucester police said they received a report of a "suspicious vehicle" contacting a girl walking home from Triton High School.

The student was traveling down Evesham Road and the Black Horse Pike southbound before turning right onto Station Avenue when a vehicle pulled up next to her, police said.

The man in the vehicle asked the girl whether she needed a ride; the vehicle then sped off down Station Avenue towards Deptford Township, police said.

Authorities described the vehicle as a dark-gray or black newer-model Honda Ridgeline with a black trifold bed cover, black and silver wheels, rain guards on the windows and a silver roof rack. The vehicle displayed unknown registration.

The adult was described as an older white male wearing a pink or orange shirt, authorities said.
