Man Robbed Same South Jersey Store Within 2 Weeks, Police Say

FRANKLIN, NJ - South Jersey police officials are investigating a pair of armed robberies just two weeks apart that may be tied to the same suspect, authorities said.

The first of the two armed robberies at Newfield Discount Liquors in Franklin Township occurred on Dec. 23 at around 6:49 p.m., Franklin police said, with a second robbery reported on Dec. 30 at around 6:30 p.m.

“The suspect appears to be the same suspect that robbed the store last Friday night,” police said in a statement.

In the second incident, the suspect entered the store and brandished a handgun, police said. It was not immediately clear whether a handgun was shown in the Dec. 23 robbery. It was also not immediately known how much was taken from the store in both incidents.
