Man Sought In Gloucester Twp. Killed In Multi-Car Crash: AG
A man sought by Gloucester Township police in a hit-and-run was killed in a multi-car crash in Winslow Sunday night.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — One person was killed in a multi-car crash in Winslow Township after police attempted to stop him for a hit-and-run crash in Gloucester Township late Sunday night, authorities announced.
The Attorney General’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. The man has not been identified by authorities.
The hit-and-run was reported in Gloucester Township at about 10 p.m. Sunday night, according to the Attorney General’s Office. Two Gloucester Township police officers then found the car involved in the crash, and they engaged in a short chase before calling it off, authorities said.

At about 10:15 p.m., that car was then involved in a crash with three other cars that were driving in the opposite direction on Sicklerville Road in Winslow Township, according to authorities.
Winslow Township police responded to the scene and gave first aid to several injured people until emergency medical personnel arrived, authorities said.

The man was taken to Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township, where he was pronounced dead at 10:57 p.m., according to authorities.
The driver of one of the other cars was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was reportedly in critical but stable condition, authorities said.
The other two drivers were taken to Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
This investigation is being conducted pursuant to Attorney General Directive 2019-4, which implements the statutory requirement that the Attorney General’s Office conduct the investigation of any death that occurs during an encounter with a law enforcement officer acting in the officer’s official capacity or while the decedent is in custody, and which establishes clear standards and procedures for conducting such investigations. Authorities provided no further information.
