Man Wanted For Sex Assault Of Girl In Camden Co. Has Been Caught: Prosecutor

MORGANTOWN, PA — A man accused of sexually assaulting a child in Camden County was arrested Friday morning in Pennsylvania.

Shane Hennesy was charged Feb. 20 with multiple sex offenses that authorities say he committed against a 12-year-old girl in Pine Hill.

Hennesy, 22, was arrested at about 6 a.m. Friday in Morgantown, Pennsylvania — a small town about 50 miles west of Philadelphia.

Fugitive-seeking members of the U.S. Marshals Service took the Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, man into custody.

Hennesy sexually abused the victim between December and January after he met her online, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

On Tuesday, the prosecutor's office asked the public for information to help them find Hennesy.

Hennesy was charged in February with aggravated sexual assault (first-degree), sexual assault (second-degree) and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child (third-degree).

He has been placed in the Berks County Jail in Pennsylvania as he awaits a hearing for extradition to New Jersey.
