Massive ShopRite In Gloucester Twp. Sets Opening Date
The grand opening will feature juggling stilt walkers, caricature artists and appearances by Santa and his reindeer.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The massive ShopRite supermarket planned for Gloucester Township has set a grand-opening date of Dec. 7.
ShopRite of Cherrywood Plaza will occupy the former Kmart building, which has been vacant since 2017.
At more than 75,000 square feet, it will be larger than the average ShopRite and contain increased amenities, including an indoor café, international cheese department, and an Asian Wokery & Sushi Bar. The store will also accomodate pickups and deliveries from online ordering.

The grand opening will be filled with family fun, including magicians, balloon art and juggling stilt walkers, according to Zallie Family Markets, which owns the store and several other ShopRite locations in the region. A DJ, face painters and caricature artists will also be present, and free samples will be offered.
"We also heard from a little elf that Santa and his Reindeer are coming to town," the business announced.

ShopRite of Laurel Hill, which is down the street, will close when the new store opens. The Laurel Hill location transitioned from a Shop N Bag to a ShopRite in 1980 and was the first South Jersey store purchased by the Zallie family.
