Moms Talk: Dog Days of Summer

What do you do with your kids once the novelty of not having to go to school wears off?

Gloucester Township kids have been out of school for about two weeks now.

The novelty of not having to wake up as the sun rises has not yet worn off for the youngsters. They still look forward to doing all the things they couldn't do because they had to go to school every day.

Well, that novelty will inevitably wear off. It always does, especially for the younger lot.

Use other GT parents' ideas, which will surely be flooding the comment boxes below here in no time, on how to keep things fresh for your kids until it's time to go school shopping.

These questions come courtesy of GT Patch "Moms Council" member Michelle Wolfson: What do you do with your kids over summer vacation? Do they go to camp? Swim club? Do you vacation as a family? Do you enjoy the time they are off or are you doing the happy dance when it's time to shop for pencils and notebooks again?

Even if you don't have any school-aged children, feel free to offer suggestions you've heard parents talking about or things that you did as a child to make the dog days of summer more bearable.
