Multiple Crashes, Lingering Outages From Major Storm In Gloucester Twp.

Several vehicles crashed in separate incidents after speeding on wet roadways during the storm, police said.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Multiple vehicles crashed during Tuesday's rainstorm, while power outages continued to linger Wednesday in Gloucester Township.

Although outage totals continue to fall, 76 homes and buildings around the township lacked electricity as of 2 p.m. Wednesday. PSE&G expects power to return by around 7:30 p.m. Gloucester City, meanwhile, has 156 outages, which PSE&G expects to restore by around 6 p.m.

Township police investigated two separate crashes Tuesday afternoon — before the storm's nighttime peak. Each appeared to be caused by "excessive" speed on wet roadways, authorities said. No injuries were reported.
