Omnicron Boosters: How To Get One If You Live In Gloucester Twp. Area

The CDC recently signed off on the new COVID-19 booster shot.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The new COVID-19 booster shot is available in Camden County, officials with the county said.

The new booster is designed to protect against both the original COVID strain and the BA.4 and BA.5 omicron subvariants, according to county officials.

Those aged 12 years and older will most benefit from the new Pfizer bivalent booster, while those aged 18 and older will most benefit from the Moderna bivalent booster, county officials said.

Individuals should wait at least two months after finishing their primary COVID-19 vaccination series or two months after they have received the most recent booster dose with any authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine to before receiving the bivalent booster, according to county officials.

Individuals can receive the booster at the Camden County Health Hub at the Blackwood Campus of Camden County College from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Appointments are "strongly" recommended and can be made via this link, county officials said.
