[UPDATE] Missing Sicklerville Teen Mom, Infant Son Safe

UPDATE: 8:20 p.m., 9/20: Kayla Maven and her 2-month-old son returned to their Sicklerville home early Thursday afternoon, police said.

The 16-year-old girl and her infant child were healthy, according to police.

Gloucester Township Police Juvenile Investigations Unit and the state Division of Youth and Family Services are looking into the incident.

ORIGINAL HEADLINE, 9/19: Police Searching for Missing Sicklerville Teen Mom, Infant Son

South Jersey police are searching for a missing teen mother from Sicklerville and her infant child.

Kayla Maven's mother reported Maven and the girl's 2-month-old son, Jeremiah, missing on Tuesday, according to Gloucester Township Police.

Authorities believe the 16-year-old girl could be in the Vineland, Cumberland County, area with her young child.

Maven left her home on Noble Road on foot with her infant child sometime after midnight Monday into Tuesday, police said. She had the child's diaper bag and some baby food with her.

Maven does not have a cell phone and police do not know what she was wearing when she left.

Police conducted an exhaustive search for the missing juveniles, but to no avail. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit and the Camden County Prosecutor's Office have been notified of the search.
