Pop-Up Clinic Offers 3rd Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccine Wednesday

Third-doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be available during a pop-up clinic at Gloucester Township Senior Complex Wednesday.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Camden County Health Department, in partnership with the Rutgers School of Nursing, and Cooper University Health Care will administer third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at a senior complex in Gloucester Township Wednesday morning, county officials announced.

The free, pop-up vaccination clinic begins at 11:30 a.m. at Franklin Square Village, 301 South Hildebrand Avenue in Gloucester Township, officials said Tuesday night. Booster doses will be available for anyone on site that qualifies, officials said. It is open to walk-up patients.

The clinic will provide Pfizer boosters and third doses of Moderna and Pfizer, for the residents and staff of the complex, officials said.

“We watched President Biden get his booster two days ago and now our health department is adding them to our arsenal of tools to bolster the health and welfare of our residents,” Camden County Commissioner Al Dyer said. “This week we had nine more residents pass away from this virus, and now is not the time to stop pushing the best tool we have to end this pandemic. Our public health team and our partners will continue to travel the county, offering up these tools to protect the public from COVID.”

As of Tuesday, there have been 56,600 coronavirus cases and 1,282 coronavirus-related deaths in Camden County since the pandemic began in March 2020.

“The county’s infection rate is showing no signs of slowing down. We need more of our community to step up and get vaccinated,” Camden County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. said. “The vaccines are safe, effective, and our only shot at putting this pandemic behind us. If you haven’t been vaccinated, don’t leave yourself at risk, get your shot right away.”

As of Tuesday, 337,561 Camden County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 303,585 are fully vaccinated. More information regarding vaccination rates throughout the county and available on the state’s COVID-19 dashboard at covid19.nj.gov.

The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Delta variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
