Red-Light Camera Company Releases Video
The company that brought red-light cameras to Gloucester Township and other South Jersey towns has released a YouTube video explaining its product.
In conjunction with National Safety Month, American Traffic Solutions (ATS) this week launched a “how it works” video containing a step-by-step explanation of how the red-light safety cameras work to capture potential red-light violations.
ATS was the company contracted by Gloucester Township to install red-light cameras at four intersections along Blackwood Clementon Road last year.
The video breaks down the red-light safety camera technology into simple terms, and provides new insight into how the cameras capture potential violations, how the data gets processed, and the subsequent review process by the issuing authority.

“As the country’s leader in road-safety technology, ATS is committed to working to raise awareness and educate the public about how red-light safety cameras work,” said James Tuton, president and CEO of the Scottsdale, AZ-based company.
Red-light running is the leading cause of urban crashes, according to the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. More people are injured in crashes involving red-light running than in any other crash type.
