UPDATE: All Roadways in Area Now Open

Police announced this morning that several roads that were impassable have been reopened.

UPDATE, 1:23 p.m.: Gloucester Township Police updated the roadways impacted by flooding shortly after noon Sunday.

The roadways currently impassable due to flooding, as of 12:10 p.m., are:

  • Williamstown Road near Jarvis Road
  • Chews Landing Road at the Stetser-Lamartine American Legion building
  • Good Intent Road at Clementon Avenue
  • Somerdale Road between Chews Landing Road and Bee Lane

Hurricane Irene ended up being much less of a devastating storm along the New Jersey coast than forecasters initially predicted.

That does not mean Gloucester Township skated by unscathed. The area did get a lot of rain, and that means flooding.

Gloucester Township Police at around 8:00 a.m. Sunday announced that the following roads were impassable:

  • Williamstown Road near Jarvis Road, in Erial
  • West Church Street and Good Intent Road
  • Chews Landing Road at the Stetser-Lamartine American Legion building
  • Good Intent Road at Clementon Avenue
  • Somerdale Road between Chews Landing Road and Bee Lane
  • Almonesson Road near the creek at the township's border with Deptford Township
  • Lower Landing Road at Route 42 overpass
  • Lower Landing Road between the Black Horse Pike and Chews Landing Road
