Supermarket In Gloucester Twp. Closing After 45 Years, Ahead Of New Store
With a mega ShopRite opening down the road, the longtime grocery store will close in a few days.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — As a mega ShopRite opens down the road, the ShopRite supermarket of Laurel Hill will close this week after 45 years in business.
ShopRite of Laurel Hill (1224 Blackwood-Clementon Rd.) opened in 1980. It was the first South Jersey store purchased by the Zallie family, which owns a dozen ShopRites in the region. Before that, it had been a Shop N Bag since 1973.
The store will close permanently at noon Friday — two days before the grand opening of ShopRite of Cherrywood Plaza.

At more than 85,000 square feet, the supermarket will have an indoor café, international cheese department, and an Asian Wokery & Sushi Bar. It will also accomodate pickups and deliveries from online ordering.
