Single-Stream Recycling Carts Coming
Delivery will begin in the township's Glendora section on Monday.
The company hired by Gloucester Township to supply residents with single-stream recycling rollout carts will begin distributing their product in Glendora Monday morning.
Single-stream recycling pick-ups are scheduled to begin on Monday, Nov. 28, according to Mayor David Mayer.
Cascade Engineering will deliver carts to 800 Glendora homes on Monday. The remainder of Glendora can expect to receive its carts on Tuesday, Mayer said, with distribution to the rest of the township over the next two weeks or so.

Township officials made the move intending to boost recycling compliance by making it easier for residents to participate. They are hopeful single-stream recycling will help reduce the amount of money the township spends on trash disposal by literally lightening the load.
The Township Council approved a $1,012,600 contract with Cascade for the rollout carts at its June 13 meeting.
Carts will be equipped with micro-chips to potentially allow the township to start a rewards program for more prolific recyclers and to help deter theft.
