Slight Change In Gloucester Township School Board Election Race
While the top three vote-getters in the elections remained the same, two candidates have flipped positions as counting continues.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The pecking order has changed slightly a couple of times, but the top three vote-getters remained the same in the race for three open seats on the Gloucester Township K-8 School District Board of Education as of Monday night.
As of Monday night, Board Member Mary Ann Johnson was holding onto her first place spot in the seven-person field with 11,3o6 votes, according to unofficial results posted by the Camden County Board of Elections.
Former Board Member Ellen Reese briefly took a lead over Board President Mary Jo Dintino, but by Monday night, Dintino was back in second place with 10,392 votes. Ellen Reese was third once again with 10,386 votes.

On Friday, Dintino had held a 26-vote lead over Reese, and the order for the top three had remained the same since counting began on Election Day. On Monday night, Dintino went back up by six votes.
Reese now holds a lead of 785 votes over Jose Fontanez, who has 9,601 votes. Former Board Member Linda Gilch has 9,046 votes, followed by Eleanor “Patti” Senner with 7,644 votes and Joanne Rossell with 7,277 votes.

As of Monday, Camden County had counted 249,956 vote-by-mail ballots and 203 machine ballots. No provisional ballots had been counted as of Sunday, and turnout was 398,475.
According to the Board of Elections, the county will update numbers daily through Nov. 23. It will begin counting provisional ballots on Nov. 11.
