He robbed 3 banks in the span of a week before fleeing to the war-torn nation, authorities said.

LVIV, UKRAINE — A man accused of robbing several banks in South Jersey was caught last month in Ukraine.

Deveaux fled to Ukraine only months after Russia invaded the nation. Russia has repeatedly attacked Lviv during the ongoing war.
Ukrainian authorities arrested Deveaux while collaborating with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Department of Justice. He's being held in a Ukrainian jail as officials work to get him extradited to the United States.
"Whether defendants flee over the Delaware River or across the Atlantic Ocean, we will continue to bring fugitives to justice through our partnership with the U.S. Marshals Service," said Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay.
