South Jersey BBQ Team Wins World Title At Jack Daniel's Championship

Uncle Pig's, a competitive barbecue team that offers catering, emerged victorious in Lynchburg, Tennessee.

LYNCHBURG, TN — A South Jersey barbecue team just took home a world title. Uncle Pig's Barbecue Pit was named grand champion at the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational.

The South Jersey team has made four trips to Lynchburg, Tennessee, to compete in "The Jack" — one of the most prestigious competitions in barbecue. In this year's competition, which took place Oct. 13-14, Uncle Pig's earned $25,000 and the chance to defend their title next year.

Uncle Pig's has racked up plenty of hardware. In 2022, they were named "Team of the Year" by the Kansas City Barbeque (sic) Society — the world's largest competitive-barbecue organization.

Along with competing, Uncle Pig's also offers catering and vending services. They also used to have a restaurant in Gibbstown.
