Massive South Jersey Light Display To Compete On ABC Show For Nation's Best

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — South Jersey may have the nation's most dazzling Christmas light setup. The family behind the much-visited Deptford home — and an even-bigger display in Washington Township — has the chance to prove it on ABC's "The Great Christmas Light Fight."

Dan, Kim, Charleigh and Chase Uszaki will compete for "best bling in America" on the ABC program, which premiers at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

For many years, the Uszaki's made their home into one of the nation's most over-the-top displays. Deptford Dazzling Lights began with a 50,000-light setup. The home achieved viral fame by synchronizing lights to the Eagles' fight song.

Their Deptford decorations will be featured on the ABC program, where families and groups put elaborate Christmas light displays in a judged competition.

But this year, they took it up a notch, developing a bigger winter wonderland in Washington Township.

GLOW at Washington Township includes plenty of decorations you can't find in the holiday aisle — the Uszaki's spent a year designing it themselves. Organizers believe GLOW has the world's largest LED snowman — 45 feet tall, with a 35-foot wingspan.

Some of the themes and attractions include the following:

• Old Fashioned Christmas, with candy canes, prancing reindeer and more — plus a "surprise" for Swifties and football fans.
• Music Lane: a drive through floating music speakers, with 10-to-20-foot-tall instruments, giant boombox speakers, a 40-foot-long "electrifying guitar experience" and other surprises.
• 12 Days of Christmas: visitors will count down the days with lights displays bringing the song to life, from a partridge in a pear tree to 12 drummers drumming.
• Glowing Light Tunnel: a 250-foot-long tunnel with high-tech LED bulbs dancing their way into the winter night.

GLOW's address is 217 Berlin-Cross Keys Rd., Williamstown (it's in Washington Township, despite the Williamstown address).
