SOUTH JERSEY — A well-known seafood business in South Jersey is facing difficult times. Big Daddy's Seafood & Rib Ranch asked the public for donations to help its eateries stay afloat.

Big Daddy's has been a popular destination for crabcakes, soul food and more. The seafood market has two locations — one in Williamstown and a Blackwood eatery that opened last year.

The family-owned establishment, however, has faced some financial hurdles. Big Daddy's launched a GoFundMe on Tuesday, seeking assistance to stay in business.

"The financial impact due to the cost of running this business has become overwhelming," the GoFundMe page says. "I'm asking my loved ones, friends and patrons to rally around us to help keep us afloat for another 20+ years - It's not easy to publicly go online and be totally transparent."

Big Daddy's also encouraged people to stop by either location to get something to eat, or just to say hello. Those unable to contribute monetarily may also keep the business in their prayers, according to Big Daddy's.
