South Jersey's Biggest Lottery Wins: Where Does The $221M Powerball Ticket Rank?

SOUTH JERSEY — The $221 million Powerball ticket sold earlier this week was one of the largest lottery wins in South Jersey history. And it's not the first time somebody in the region scored a nine-digit prize.

The recent winning ticket, sold by Preet Food Mart in Lindenwold, shattered Camden County's record. Previously, the county's biggest lottery win came in 2004, when a father and his sons won a $10 million jackpot from a Mega Millions ticket sold in Cherry Hill.

Here are the biggest lottery wins in South Jersey history, according to New Jersey Lottery officials:

1. $448.4 million Powerball — Aug. 7, 2013: Three tickets split the jackpot, including two from New Jersey, sold at Acme (Route 9, Little Egg Harbor, Ocean County) and Super Stop & Shop (Route 522, South Brunswick, Middlesex County). The third winning ticket came from Minnesota.
2. $390 million Mega Millions — March 6, 2007: The jackpot was shared by two tickets: one from Campark Liquors Inc. (1557 Dehirsch Ave., Woodbine, Cape May County) and the other from Georgia.
3. $330 million Mega Millions — Aug. 7, 2007: sold at Blitz's Villas Market (902 Bayshore Avenue, Villas, Cape May County). This was the largest single jackpot drawing in South Jersey history.
4. $221 million Powerball — June 10, 2024: Preet Food Mart in Lindenwold sold South Jersey's biggest lottery-winning ticket since the record-holder in 2013.
5. $216 million Mega Millions — March 3, 2009: sold at Singin Oil (1215 Lakewood Rd., Toms River, Ocean County).
6. $35.5 million Pick-6 — May 10, 2004: sold at Rite Aid (220 Mathistown Rd., Tuckerton, Ocean County).
7. $30 million Mega Millions — May 31, 2013: sold at Vineland Truck Stop (760 Harding Way, Buena, Atlantic County).
8. $20.1 million Pick-6 — June 16, 2014: sold at 7-Eleven (524 Lacey Rd., Forked River, Ocean County).
9. $15 million Pick-6 — July 22, 2004: Two tickets shared the jackpot: one from Cumberland Farms (524 Route 72 W, Manahawkin, in Ocean County) and the other from Food Express (315 Walter Foran Blvd., Flemington, Hunterdon County).
