WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — "Snowtorious B.I.G." — the massive snowman that headlined one of South Jersey's biggest Christmas attractions — perished from storm damage.

Standing at 47.3 feet tall, Snowtorious loomed large at GLOW — a proudly over-the-top Christmas display in Washington Township. Organizers believe he was the world's largest LED snowman and recently submitted his application to Guinness World Records.

But no snowman can withstand Mother Nature through size alone. And Monday's heavy rain and winds proved too much for the 45,630-pixel "beacon of holiday cheer," according to GLOW. All that remained in the aftermath was the snowman's hat.

Much like the rapper to which his name alludes, Snowtorious left an enduring legacy in his short time.

"Snowtorious B.I.G., you may have melted away, but your glow will forever illuminate our memories," said GLOW's Facebook page. "We loved it when we called you Big Poppa. Throw your wings in the air, cause you're a true player."

The Uszaki's — the family behind GLOW — won Dec. 12's "The Great Christmas Light Fight" for their prior holiday display at their Deptford home, which attracted thousands of visitors annually.

When they opened GLOW this year, Snowtorious stood as a crown jewel next to the Ferris wheel in the attraction's Dazzling District.

Snowtorious's distant relative, Snowman Version "2.0 Pac," will one day take his place, according to GLOW. The Washington Township attraction temporarily closed after the storm but reopened Wednesday with a new show featuring the village's mega tree, "EmiStem."

GLOW remains open for the holidays. Visit GLOW's website for tickets and more info.
