Three Charged in PNC Bank Robbery

A 17-year-old Sicklerville boy is among the three charged in Tuesday's bank robbery.

Three Sicklerville residents, including a juvenile, are charged with conspiring to rob the Cross Keys Road PNC Bank Tuesday morning.

The three suspects were arrested at a Mayfair Meadows home located about a quarter mile from the bank, which is located at 679 Cross Keys Rd., at Johnson Road, according to police.

The robbery was reported to police at 11:37 a.m. Responding police units were told two of the three suspects entered the bank, threatened a teller by indicating they were armed with a gun, and fled with roughly $16,000, according to Gloucester Township Police Deputy Chief David Harkins.

Investigators developed information that the suspects fled in a black 2001 Honda Accord to 4 Santalina Dr., in the Mayfair Meadows development located off Johnson Road.

Santalina Drive resident Jashaun Joyner, 19, was the first suspect taken into custody after police surrounded his home.

The Gloucester Township Special Response Team (commonly referred to as SWAT) was called to the scene after police learned two people fitting the other robbery suspects' descriptions remained inside the home. The two suspects had failed to answer a phone call from a crisis negotiator, Harkins said in a statement.

The two suspects—Kline Merriweather, 19, of Stone Crop Court, Sicklerville, and a 17-year-old Sicklerville boy whom police have not identified due to his juvenile status—surrendered at 2:07 p.m.

Police believe Merriweather and the 17-year-old boy entered the bank, with Joyner serving as the getaway driver, Harkins said by email Tuesday night.

Joyner, Merriweather and the juvenile all are charged with first-degree robbery.

Joyner and Merriweather were lodged in Camden County Jail on $250,000 bail.

The 17-year-old was lodged in Camden County Youth Detention Center.

The robbery proceeds, clothing worn by the suspects and additional evidence were recovered in the vehicle and in the Santalina Drive residence, police said.
