Township Elementary Student Wins National T-Shirt Design Contest

Kelsey Bell, a fourth-grader from the township's Union Valley Elementary School, will be honored today with a $5,000 prize for her school and a $500 gift card for winning a national T-shirt design contest for grade-schoolers.

The national retailer P.S. Aeropostale sponsored the P.S. What Makes you Smile contest for kids to showcase their artistic talent. Kelsey competed against 50,000 other first- to fifth-grade students nationwide to win the prize.

The contest, which ran in October, encouraged students to pick up a brush, crayon or even a pencil and design a T-shirt to show the world what makes them smile. A winner from each grade was selected.
