Township Student Heads to National Spelling Bee for 3rd Straight Year
Nandi Cook-Creek from Glen Landing Middle School is headed to the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee in May.

How do they do it?
Not just the kids from but all of them.
They spell words that many, including myself, have never heard spoken. They'll ask the country of origin, how is it used in a sentence and then phonetically spell it out, one syllable at a time. Time and time again.

One such champion is Nandi Cook-Creek, an eighth-grader at Glen Landing, who won the Camden County spelling bee on March 13 to qualify for the national competition. Nandi, who was first-runner up last year, won this year's competition by spelling "sachem" for her championship word.
It's an American Indian word for a chief or leader. How do I know? I had to look it up.
