Murder-Suicide Tip Leads to Search of Triton Student's Home
No weapon was found in the Blackwood student's home after another student told school administrators of an alleged threat.
Police searched the home of a Triton Regional High School student Wednesday after another student told school administrators a murder-suicide was planned, according to a note sent to parents and a television news report.
School officials dismissed the threat, which also included possible explosives at the school, as an "unfounded rumor."
The student, who was identified as an 18-year-old senior from Blackwood, Gloucester Township by NBC-10 Philadelphia, was on home suspension when the threat was reported, school officials said. The news report said administrators were told the student planned to come there at the end of the school day, shoot two students and then turn the gun on himself.

NBC 10 said no weapon was recovered from the student's home and police in Runnemede, where Triton is located, said the student denied knowing anything about the alleged plot. The news report said the student was charged with one count of making terroristic threats and released.
Gloucester Township police did not immediately respond to a request for information Wednesday evening.
