Whiz Kids: This Week's Is a Dictionary

• Whiz Kid's Name/Age - Preet Raval, 13

• Whiz Kid's School - Glen Landing Middle School

• Whiz Kid's Accomplishment - Today, Preet competes in the second and third rounds of the preliminary stage of the Scripps National Spelling Bee. On Tuesday, the eighth-grader became the first Gloucester Township Public Schools student to participate in the global competition, when he took the written test.

• Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness - Preet loves to read, according to his mom, Sapana. A lot! "He loves reading. ... Trust me, sometimes I have to tell him, 'Please, Preet, this is enough,'" she said. He's also been busy studying and memorizing a list of 10,000 words from a book his father, Saumil, got him.
