Wrong-Way Crash Kills 2, Injures 1 In South Jersey: Police
A driver crossed the centerline and got into a head-on crash that killed 2 people in the other vehicle, authorities said.
MAURICE RIVER, NJ — A driver crossed onto the wrong side of the road before a head-on crash that killed two people on Sunday in Cumberland County, authorities said.
Levon Woods was driving east on Millville Mays Landing Road in Maurice River. At around 4:15 a.m., his car crossed the centerline and hit a westbound vehicle head-on, according to State Police.
Two people in the other vehicle were pronounced dead. Police identified the victims as Thomas Splinter, 57, and Nancy Orellana-Splinter, 29 — both Mays Landing residents.

Woods, 25, of Atlantic City, sustained moderate injuries.
A State Police spokesperson did not reveal whether Woods faces any charges.

The crash remains under investigation. No additional information was available as of Monday morning, the spokesperson said.
