25 Gallons of Hydraulic Fluid Spilled Near Leo's Lunch Stand

Fluid made its way to storm drain, police said.

Hackettstown police and fire officials were on the scene at Leo's Lunch Stand Tuesday morning where hydraulic fluid spilled from a vehicle into the walkway between the restaurant and Anderson Cash Checking, according to Det. Darren Tynan.

The vehicle that leaked the fluid, around 7 a.m., was a truck from Souderton, PA. Tynan said a police investigation determined that the driver had been picking up used cooking oil from Leo's Lunch Stand when a hydraulic line on the truck broke.

"The hydraulic fluid made it into the storm drain near Leo's and then traveled to the catch basin near the intersection of West Plane Street and Route 46 where the fluid was stopped," Tynan said.
