Drunken Wrong-Way Driver Slams Into NJ State Trooper’s Car: Cops
The NJ State Trooper was hospitalized from the head-on car crash, authorities said.

WARREN COUNTY, NJ — A man driving on the wrong side of a North Jersey highway slammed head-on into a NJ State Trooper’s car, police said.
Robert Felegi, 67, of Middleport, Pennsylvania, has been arrested for his role in a crash that sent a New Jersey State Trooper to the hospital on Tuesday.
Police said Felegi was driving a Nissan pickup truck westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-80 in Knowlton Township, Warren County, around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Troopers soon responded to a report of the wrong-way driver near milepost 1.4.
One officer was driving a marked trooper car eastbound with emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to slow down other drivers and alert them of the incoming Nissan.

Felegi's Nissan then slammed into the officer’s car head-on, bringing both cars to a stop, police said.
The police officer was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash.
Felegi, who was unharmed, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and assault by auto. He was taken to Warren County Jail to await court proceedings
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
The collision is still under investigation, and no further information is available at this time, according to the New Jersey State Police.
