25 Planters Damaged on Main Street

Police are continuing investigation as two juveniles were identified as possibly being involved.

As police continue an investigation into the damage of dozens of flower planters on Main Street, two juveniles have been identified as having possibly been involved in the vandalism, according to Hackettstown Police Sgt. Darren Tynan.

Flower planters were recently highlighted on Main Street by the Hackettstown Business Improvement District, as the Warren Garden Club recognized the group for their efforts in beautifying the town, including with the planters.

About 25 planters had been pushed over on Main Street and into the roadway in the early morning hours of Friday, Tynan said. Police responded to find the planters just after 2:30 a.m.

Through a preliminary investigation, police were able to identify the juveniles, Tynan said, but an investigation is ongoing and charges are still pending. The names of the juveniles were not released by police.

Anyone with information regarding the incident should contact Hackettstown police at 908-852-3302.
